3rd person view
Why haven't the developers added a third-person camera to V Rising yet?
I once tried a mod that enabled third-person view — and honestly, it was a completely different experience, in the best way possible. The atmosphere, the immersion, even the combat felt fresh. I believe many players who tried it would agree.
I get it — the game was designed as an isometric ARPG, and the current camera works well with the gameplay and combat systems. But still, wouldn’t it be great to give players the choice?
The mod breaks after almost every update, and frankly, constantly reinstalling files or waiting for the mod to be updated is a bit of a hassle.
It would be amazing if the devs simply added a couple of sliders in the camera settings and let each player decide for themselves. After all, freedom is a big part of what makes games enjoyable.
If this function creates some kind of imbalance for one of the parties, then they could also add to the server settings the ability to prohibit changing the cam

VisamaDo you mean first-person camera? Because the current camera is already third-person

DastartoNot exactly 🙂
When I say “third-person camera,” I mean the kind that’s positioned behind the character, like in games such as The Witcher 3, Dark Souls, or even Skyrim in third-person mode. You actually see your character from behind, closer to eye level, and the camera moves smoothly with them.
V Rising uses an isometric camera, which is technically also “not first-person,” but it’s placed high above the character at an angle, more like Diablo, Path of Exile, or Divinity: Original Sin.
So yes, you’re right — it’s not a first-person camera. But what I was referring to is a "shoulder-level" third-person view, which creates a totally different level of immersion, atmosphere, and combat experience. -

PovilasDastarto how you think to fight in third person view. Avoiding arrows from back or aiming AOE.

I can't explain to you in words how to do this, before the introduction of Dracula I went through all the content with this mod and I didn't have any particular problems with such things, after all, haven't you played games like The Witcher or Dark Souls? And many other similar games, and everywhere an arrow can fly into the back, but this question was not raised there, I think it's a matter of habit and experience -

DastartoIn the end, this is just a suggestion to give the ability to raise the camera a little higher than the intended norm and is in no way offered as a replacement for what is there; for those who find this inconvenient, it will be enough to simply hold down the right mouse button, slightly change the tilt and scroll the mouse wheel.

HaidenI tried in third person. It was a kind of WoW. Never gonna play without it. It should be in the game allready it's a player choice.
