Familiars and Pets maybe with taming.
Familiars can be purchased at towns or tamed in wild across the map.
Not like servants familiars really comes with the player after feeding with blood.
Way more cool if the familiars can help in transporting, mining, chopping, combat or emits light.
All familiar need special tools to do things like mining and with the default tools they only can get 1/4 of the nomral amout of trees, ores, stones, nomrally give.
The familiars can accept commands from a command wheel like:
Follow, Stay, Go Home, Agressive, Passive, Defensive, Light, Gather Drops
All familiar has max level per region and the max level cap can be raised with crafted special items to level further.
Pets stay at base walking around giving more life to the castle.
They can be found after slaying a boss in cages or chests with big number of variants and color.
Maybe a play place would be good where the player can play with pets.
Thank you for reading. :3

Ser_ElrykI like the idea of having a pet, familiar, or companion (other than just the horse).
A wolf, a raven, a bat, a gargoyle, etc. Different options would be cool. Even if it only just chilled out at the castle. -

DIVITYI would simply this by just allowing players to have a pet at their side which would be a mini version of any "monster" in the game. So you could tame a spider, bear, wolf ect and they have a skill that you could integrate in your builds. Maybe you can get an unholy spider pet that has a % chance to inflict condem or a bear with a % chance to inflict chill. No need for the extra work of equipment on them, they could just be affected by the lvl of the player. Maybe they can't die but get low dps to not drastically change the sandbox

MithranArkanereSome creature types have a corresponding VBlood, like the Alpha and Kodia.
There could be one boss for each type of creature, and defeating them could unlock a skill you can slot to have a creature of that type always follow you.
The skill would have 3 uses:
* Passive: the pet follows you automatically.
* Active 1: While the creature is alive, it will attack your last target and use its skill on its own, except for its stronger skill, which they will only use when you command it by using its skill.
* Active 2: When the creature is killed, the skill would go on cooldown and swap over to a skill to revive it. The revive skill can be used to revive the pet early, but it makes you vulnerable. The pet will still revive on its own, but takes much longer without using the skill. -

RKTsuneCould further tame monsters, and have some means of having friendly undead as castle guards...would pair well with the PvE raids suggestion on this board.
