I hope the game save can be inherited in the next game update
I’m a V Rising player with over 800 hours of gameplay, and overall, I’m quite satisfied with your game. However, there’s one major issue: with every new update, it’s impossible to carry over save files from the previous version. This is a serious problem for single-player users, as it completely destroys the purpose of gathering materials and building a castle—knowing that it will all eventually be wiped out makes the effort meaningless.
Nowadays, when I play, I just use the console to summon weapons and armor of the appropriate level and teleport straight to the bosses to fight. But believe it or not, in one version of the game, I actually captured every NPC from every region—and they all had 100% pure blood quality.

I understand if there is an engine issue, but every survival developer knows that wiping player progress is a big no, no. Like I spent 200h building my castle and it's gone. I still love this game though. -

TongTieYeah, kind of weird that we have to reset each major update but it could be game engine related. I've played other survival games with new area release and updates but my save still carries over so this is probably a game engine limitation for V-Rising on how it reads previous old save files but I could be wrong and the devs just want to mess with us and wants us to start over.
Last month I booted up Palworld after not playing for almost 11 months after I heard that they added cross-play and to check out the new Pals plus 2 new zones since then but to my surprise my save still worked with my bases and Pals still present. Heck my Rust save still works on our local dedicated server after 2 years even after it gets updated. -

DavidThe biggest issue with this in VRising is if they change the map and castle plots, there isn't any automated way to "fix" your castle. However, they could just force you to "relocate" the castle and rebuild it. Exchanging removed items for new items (or even letting old items just survive) seems like not a huge deal.
Just FYI, you can go into steam and ask for the old version back... but I imagine you want to play the new content with your existing castle/character. -

qui0scitI’ve played countless survival games and lost plenty of worlds and characters, but none of those losses hit me as hard as this one. After the new update, I can’t even walk around the castle I poured so much effort and emotion into designing. In most games, you lose your progress because you accidentally delete a world—but here it feels different. It’s like someone took something away from me, forcing to choose between new content and old memories.
