Rollback the Gloomrot Territory Change
We want to be able to build sprawling Castles, not kinda big manor houses. It stifles single players who just want to build a big Vampire Castle in what you sold as the Vampire Castle building game. It prevents coop players from have a base big enough for all of them. And it makes it so there are only a handful of useful spots in PvP, meaning new players get shutout by those that got to those spots first.
This change harshly creating boundaries just bad, can you please undo it?

Jim MergedWith the introduction of "claiming" castle spots, they're now all too small to do anything fun or meaningful. Before, we could make courtyards and grand hallways and nice spread out buildings. Now everything feels cramped and crappy. I don't feel like a vampire lord in their mansion, I feel like a bat-obsessed freak in some studio apartment.

Please bring back the nice big castle grounds so we can go back to making big, impressive castles that can have gardens and courtyards. This change is honestly a step backwards, in my opinion. -

Braden MergedThe new vertical building is nice, but the best territories for building have been halved or worse. Most are now too small for a true castle. No gardens or courtyards, just a vertical tower. The new territory system is enough on its own to stop the griefers. There was no reason to edit all the large territories into smaller versions. Bring back large territories. Allow our castles to be both sprawling and towering. The extra territories are nice, but useless with as small as they are. Bring back large territories.

SyphaI was one of those (in the start) who felt that when people could take big spots it was hard to find spots left for the rest that came later, but tbh after this new patch and they made small build spaces I can't build the castle I had and was so in love with. I searched for my old spot and found they had "cut it in half" so to speak, and that was so sad I loved that spot :(

LiamMy favourite spot in dunley farmlands underneath the race track is now cut in half??? I either get the tiny highground with the terrible entrance, or I get the nice bridge and pond but instead have a cliff looming over me

IgnielI have to agree with Ozzma in single player or playing with friends the predetermined places are too small too build big gardens or other wide structures. It's almost impossilbe to build a big tower with a sprawling castle around it. And with the new upper floors you can't build balconies above the cliffs which is a bit dissapointing.

It would be really nice if there were an option at the game start where you can choose the old system. -

DaminionzProblem with this is going to be that people will claim these areas and wall them off - blocking again pathways, in PvP servers they'll start honeycombing even more. The way it is now - is the right way to go about things, you want your garden then just shrink the castle or find a bigger lot to build in as there's plenty of them. Not to mention you can build a garden on your top floor too. What they should do is make it so that there's smaller territories and then also bigger, with the difference being that small territories drain less blood in castle heart, while bigger territories drain A LOT more. AND official servers should start limiting castle hearts per clan seeing as most quads servers can and probably will claim 4lots per clan, which is just dumb.

RhapsI really like the idea of making this a server option. It's obvious that this was necessary based on how things were going in more public PVP servers (with people walling off certain areas and such), but for people who play just with friends (who are going to be respectful) it's so much harder to be creative with these limitations. Like, yes, it can still create interesting building choices but I really miss the customization we used to have.

TraevynI would really love for the territory system to be an option you can toggle in the server settings. As it is right now me and my partner just picked a nice spot to build a large castle, only to realize we cannot connect the two halves of the area and it will just have to be unfinished. It also really forces you to pack everything into a small area, or to be REQUIRED to build up to fit everything you need. This is a change that was made to fix a problem that didn't exist for solo/co-operative PvE servers, and as a result it is ONLY a restriction, not a necessary trade-off to maintain balance. Just an option to be able to build outside of territories, even if that is just a ground floor only option to make it work with the engine etc, would be seriously helpful. As it stands currently, this really killed a lot of my desire to continue since I won't be able to actually build the way I want to.

Rubén de Lucas MartínezTo avoid blocking the other castles, they just had to have programmed it to check for a path to any road and programmed that enemy player units could not attack outside of their territory. I like the new system less

EclipseHavenI was as of the same opinion initially. I wanted my large plot back, it was cut in two. However, I disagree with the rollback, at this time.
The new castle land gives more players the option to have a spot. The spots have doubled in availability from what they were and now more people can be housed on a single server and the servers are more lively. The spots I fell in love with, that I wanted were not even available and had changed drastically. So instead of rinse and repeat the same game as before I had to discover new plots and create new designs working with what I had. There are some decent sized plots in all areas. The key is noting your favorites, watching for castle hearts to deteriorate and have a spare heart ready. Also there are a few spots in the Woods and Farmlands which connect to one another, in a sense. Two castle hearts could go a long way in establishing a sort of large plot.
Thanks! -

KomurotoI upvoted but honestly, I don't think the issue is really just the territory claim, i think its a combination of size limitations and choice which could be solved by expanding server settings. Also if we were allowed to place the castle heart on any floor, then it would make elevated bases more desirable over large ground bases. But since you cannot do that, this means that having tall bases is essentially pointless.

OldraIf everyone here can please vote for the suggestion below, it is different but very similar in what people here are asking for:
It has more votes than this one so it has a bigger chance of being seen and implemented.

Xenophontes MergedFirst off I would like to say a huge thank you for making this wonderful game. I have poured hundreds of hours into the base game and have poured a few hundred more into the Gloomrot update. With that said i have 2 suggestions I would like to submit. One of these is to have an option to build outside of your assigned territory like we were able to in the previous version of the game so long as its in either solo or co-op PVE modes. I absolutely LOVED elevation in the game and was jumping with joy when i saw it was being added in with the Gloomrot update (have even made a mage tower in one of my plots) but the removal of building outside of the territory for PvE players has really hurt the potential creativity for bases. I understand the change for PvP reasons but it feels like PvE co-op and Solo players caught unnecessary strays in this change. Below are going to be afew pictures of plots that could be very cool if they can be connected outside our territory bounds. Thank you again!
