Wings instead of Bat Form!

In my first few hours of gameplay I noticed the Winged Horrors location on the map and read the description of the area "An unreachable peak for all those without wings." I imagined large, black, demonic wings sprouting out of my back and being able to fly at some point later in the game. What I got was a wimpy little bat. Wings could be permanently visible and useable in a similar way to frog form at the least or they could be an alternative to bat form. I would like to see some form of maneuverability with them in combat too. I would be happy to see any of this implemented.
