Weather Idea: Aurora Solaris

An aurora with the burning strength of the sun suddenly forms in the middle of the night. Probably shouldn't burn you up *quite* as fast as the real thing, but it should still be a threat.

sounds neat - and also maybe a Blood Borealis, which could have a different positive effect than a blood moon. Eclipses could also provide some interesting changes as well....
