Weather and Seasons
Day time is always bright and sunny, this incentivizes players to play with shortened day durations.
To lessen the desire for shortened days, a weather system would be a good solution.
For example, there may be the chance for rain storms resulting in large cloud coverage.
There could even be negative side-effects, such as thunderstorms making bat form more cumbersome to use.
In addition to daily weather, there could be seasons which dynamically adjust how long the sun is out. Seasons could also buff certain spell categories. For example, winter would make all Frost spells X% stronger. Summer would do the same for Blood spells, and so on.

DripyulaSounds good to me.
I already have my "favourite spells" mostly and feel absolutely no motivation to try out the ice spells much more.
Chaos spells seem to have everything I want.
Nice "cost-benefit ratio" with just a few clicks and they do respectable dmg.
The "ice-bat" spell for example felt annoying since I had to use it two times and I see no real use for it except for in PvP maybe.
But since I'm on a Solo-server to build my ultra stylish Castle in peace......... yeah. -

Toni MergedEvery X (lets say 100) days there is weather and season changes bringing fully clouded and stormy days that let you course through the wilderness with ease, lightning hitting the floor being able to damage entities, extra sunny days that debuff your sun resistance or fewer night time to make it more challenging during that season but colder days that buffs your sun resistance.
Also having fishing spots spawn more or less often depending on seasons. -

Bobby (DethMarine) MergedI think this game could really benefit from having different weather effects to break up the same boring day and night cycle.
Gloomy rainy nights go with vampire gothic theme like peanut butter and jelly, could also make it so certain mobs spawn only during the rain, or some wizard enchants the rain fall time to time with some de buff, or Chance to get hit by lighting if holding any metal etc.
Blizzard (Snow) a snow storm could make you body slowly freeze the more blood you lose being you are undead the slower you start to move and you slowly freeze among certain mobs spawn during etc.
Fog heavy fog could spread out through the map making it visually harder to see monsters at longer range and the path you are going kinda like the fog in the necromancers place.
Eclipse a eclipse moon could add all kinds of effects making the map way darker, making other mobs crazy and stronger etc.
All these weather effects could buff and debuff player and mobs would add so much more to -

RizeresMake some weather events effect NPC's as well. Rain and snow make NPC's stay inside more (if they can) making it easier to get outside loot, but harder to go in buildings (maybe even closing doors). Blood moons cause all NPC's blood% to rise for that night. (if you capture them the % stays). New Moon, really dark, causes undead to spawn all over.

Weather FX will influence gameplay. New Castle Table: Weathervane, informs vampires on a three day server forecast rolls.
Rain- Rain can trigger anytime with a 20% chance of rain, 15% chance to be a Thunderstorm, every server 40 min. Rerolls chance of rain after 30 min if failed. Rain lasts 10 -20 min depending on roll. Rain causes Caravans to slow down, as well as personal carriages. Rain causes 13% reduction in sun exposure timer.
Wind- Wind speed creates cloud cover speed. Wind is divided between Fast, Normal and Slow. Fast has 10%, Normal 70% and Slow has a 20% of occuring. Affects cloud cover and rain dissipation. "Fast" cloud applies -20% to the rain timer. "Slow" applies a +5% to the rain timer.
Season: 7 Day week cycle and season cycle further influences gameplay. Summer introduces longer days, Winter brings longer nights. Spring adjusts rain chances from 20 to 39%. And Fall remains neutral. Seasons change every 28 in game days. -

Ear Wang MergedI hope there were some weather/seasons like "Don't Starve", and some enemies and bosses that only appear at certain times. They may wander around the player's castle, or have some vampire haters attack the castle.
