LyssandraHow often do we check the recipe and then forget it by the time we get to the chests?
-

OrchidInstead of nearby containers, I'd say to check containers in the workstation's room.

Artimecion1I would like this as well. However, I would prefer it to be part of progress. I would like to see room specific containers and the bonus for being in the correct floor and roofed castle would be to craft from storage.

MindsplittAwesome idea. I would vote that this could be a castle wide thing. Not just nearby boxes.

KokaI want to add the reason this would be great is because the fun part of inventory management/organizing is initially setting up and designing your castle, running from storage unit to storage unit is not. Also, please let us designate items to go to storage units via compulsively count even if there is no item in the storage unit. If I use up all my pristine hides to make gear for my servants I still want pristine hides to go into my tailoring storage

Haha, I have A.D.D. and this is a severe problem for me,
I lost the count of how many times I asked my friend to repeat the recipe for me. xddd -

Bhelumzar MergedOne of the most frustrating things about managing my castle is the inventory management for crafters and refiners with the large amount of unique resources in the game. This suggestion is so that when I'm interacting with a crafting or refining station, my castle is smart enough to detect ALL the resources I have in any chest (and the ground?) within my castle border and pull from them when I queue something up to craft. For refining, perhaps I can click the recipe to queue it up and my castle automatically dumps the reagent resources into the refiner for me.

HolySmokeyThis is the best thing suggested so far

ProTerraMoriAgreed. I am enjoying the gameplay loop so far but coming back from a run means 5 minutes of running around between chests dumping all my loot.
To add to that, I'd also love to see a 'fill partial inventory stacks from chest' button. If I want to refill the potions I keep in my inventory without going over I have to either take extra and then move them back, or split the stack like three times, move the number I need, and then re-sort the chest. -

Sosunaoe compulsive sorting would be the best quality of life improvement ever

McFluffiArk s+ system of auto pulling by click for selected recipe to workbench if items are available in chests nearby. This also notes on screen which materials are NOT available and one can immediately start their hunt for missing ingredients. Auto sorting of mats via a one button press would be amazing for us OCD nutz :)

Mindsplitt MergedOption or feature to craft, build and compulsively sort from and to ALL storage containers castle wide.

EdvardIf this gets added I'll probably never stop playing this game, it's the biggest struggle atm.

zeroTAGCertainly the AoE Sort is very interesting! To make it even more useful, setting which types of items containers should sorted at, without needing to have at least 1 of each item. So the AoE Sort also sends first time drops.

BroysI remember an aspect like that in Ark, where you can click on the item to be crafted and pull the materials to the "crafting bench". When you have all your materials sorted, it takes time to round them all up, and you forget most of the materials while finding where you stored them all.

Montineer MergedThis should be made available through an upgrade past the silver tree, not being able to do it early will keep the progression through earlier tiers and allow ease of access as it becomes more important when the loot becomes more abundant! Nice idea!

cinaedayes please :) the running back and forth because I forgot things AGAIN is getting on my nerves, too.

mac_boom MergedWhile you are inside your base, materials shouldn't have to be in your inventory to be used for building, crafting and repairing. If they are in a storage container, that should be enough.
Related: An option to "compulsively count" from anywhere in your base would be great. Not just when accessing a chest. -

ButterEkimel MergedSo are you basically looking for a free build mode or separate game mode? Cause as much as you had to go through the effort to collect all the material it seems like an extreme measure of convivence to just build with no effort to make sure you have the material to build what you are working on. As much as the lazy part of me would love to have it as well, the part of me that wants to take the effort to build my castle right and with purpose feels like that is totally wrong to have that mechanic, at least as standard. Maybe as a player made private server mechanic in the options menu would be good

RaptorThis is the #1 feature I'd like to see added to the game, before literally anything else. I spend so much time on storage, it's by far the least enjoyable thing about the game.

BakstabbahIn the early game inventory and storage management is simple since you have so little. Later on it becomes such a chore running around the castle and placing items into right chests or when crafting, gathering the materials neeeded for recipe.
Idea of having floor tile bonus with enclosed room just storage, make it so it pulls items from those chests inside that room when crafting or building anything inside the castle. Also compulsive counting applies to all chests inside that room. -

JusttzHas there been any acknowledgment from the dev that this may happen ? Loving the game but having to run from one chest to the other is a bit annoying.

GunnarI hope this doesn't get added to the game ... Resource costs of certain items is immensely high, producing items requires work, and honestly, this game is brilliant at this one thing - hard work reaps rewards.
Now I understand how this seems very practical and nice... but at best I'd opt for an option that allows you to put in certain upgrades to various crafting stations.
E.g. New item now craftable <Smelting Container: "Item which may be attached to a smelter to increase it's inventory size">. -

BomooI'd even go so far as to say all storage containers in a given castle territory should be used for any crafting done on that territory. By the same token, it would be fantastic if we were able to see resource stockpiles of a castle, and other valuable information, at a distance by interacting with that castle's icon on the world map.

komoso a central terminal that give access to all containers of that castle in one screen?
sounds too good so maybe give this only as an end game buildable option, preferably after making Eye of Twilight and killing all bosses except the last 3 or 4. -

Brandon MooreI second the idea that containers in the same room should be linked as well as any nearby crafting station and so you would be able to craft and repair as long as the room you're in has the required materials.

MoriSomething like this would be great!
Or: You could command your servant to be a "butler", and a butler's job is to slowly take everything from a junk chest to the nearest non-junk chest with a matching item. Kind of goes with the make-progress-while-you-are-logged-off vibe of the game. -

mini_tostadoI just asked for something similar to this! I'm embarrassed I didn't see this, I would only add a little more description in that I think making all items and crafting ingredients centrally available is key. Not just from "nearby" boxes but any storage on my castle grounds should be centrally available for crafting. I also really like expanding on the compulsively count feature to make it even smarter! Inventory management is one of the major factors that makes me put this game down and not play for long stretches of time, it just gets on my nerves!

Mochnant+1. A very basic QoL feature in the best survival crafting games that V Rising needs. See Grounded for a top notch implementation including toggling specific chests OFF for use in hot crafting.
-

AedyrAbsolutely needed, especially with the territory rework in Gloomrot. Chests in a claimed territory should be able to provide their mats to a build/craft action done within that territory.

DrizzittIn the interest of not fighting with my fellow vampire tag alongs , I would ask that we keep a specific container which we put resources into which we plan on using for crafting. That way if you want to keep something aside in other containers , it wouldn't be an issue. So crafting container separate from other standard containers :)
Also I don't know if this was mentioned above , but if its possible to sift through containers via a button click , it would be easier to know which containers have which loot. This could actually be a very big feature in on itself. -

BunnychompThe lack of Craft from Containers feature is my single biggest misery inducing experience in game.
Even if you have a well organised storage system, to have to run around and fetch all those items every time you want to edit one or 2 little things....not fun.
Then you have to go and put them back in the correct places each time if you want to go looting or use a portal....not fun.
Automated sorting, I'm not too phased about, the current feature for moving matching items from Inventory to selected Storage is fine, it would be nice to have a global feature for that....and that would indeed fit nicely into the Craft from Container feature if implemented. -

XardasVEVOTotally agree, maybe with a little feature that more than picking stuff from your chests, allows you to see how much of an item you do have by placing the cursor on recipe
(example: copper sword needs copper and planks, by placing the cursor on the copper sword recipe it tells you that in your castle's chests there "x number" copper ingots and "y number" wood planks) -

chromiumboyAdding my agreement that it would be awesome to be able to craft items using materials stored in chests while inside my territory. Being able to dump collected materials in a single place and have them auto sorted into their assigned chests would also be a nice feature
-
yesterday
AzraelYep, can totally stand by this idea. Storage containers within the same room or within a certain radius should be affected by crafting stations.

PharokI would love a compulsively count for all nearby storage/chests, so that I can quickly empty my bags when returning from a hunt.
It would save a lot of time and avoid going to several storages just to click on compulsive count on each.
Note: some chests may be locked to avoid being filled.
Definitely a time saver !
