Custom Map Creator
It is my understanding that auto-generated maps are not in the plans of the game, but is there any appetite for a custom map creator akin to the map editor in StarCraft?
I feel like piggybacking on the castle editor functionality to allow a map editor would work well and give players a really nice way to establish their own unique servers.

dand3eeeLove the idea, having community made maps and steam workshop support would be an easy way to keep the game fresh.

KomurotoYeah, even if this is like after full 1.0 release, I'd 2nd this. Would add to the replayability of the game, and it would honestly be the explosion of players that modding usually brings.

VictimWhile I think gen'd maps would be a horrible idea for a game like Vrising, I'd love to be able to make my own. Would be a great way of letting server owners allow/disallowing bigger base areas or expanding zones that are too small (Cursed Forest). That's without even looking at the creative element it would bring.

KokaIf procedural map generation would be too difficult/require too many resources in order to make it fun and balanced this would be the next best thing. People definitely have passion for this game and I'm sure we'd see a solid variety of maps. Could even add a portal to showcase them and let people upvote the ones they like. It would do a lot to slow down the growing "speedrunning to T2" people that make PvP servers frustrating due to the static nature of the current map.

JehkobaThis would be amazing, and could allow players to drive the longevity of the game further by letting them make and publish custom maps for each other.

Martin HydeYou are comparing to very different games and engines. It would be a lot of backend work to randomise a map, including where to put bosses, if its random bosses will be all over the place... however a workshop tool to create your own maps could be an option.

AgniescuIn Valheim it's possible to "import" a heat map and make the game create the map (like little Scandinavia) according to the parameters. It would be cool if that would be possible at a later stage of the game as well.

DeathlotusGiving full dev creation toolkit to players would allow for completely unique and possibly persistent servers that could be setup in ways with admins to run well and beyond the given content lifespan of the vanilla. Incredibly so if mod community assets can be easily integrated in to the game. For any familiar with an older CRPG game Neverwinter Nights (not the mmo) There are servers that run for years without any clear end goal. As the server world shards are designed with an infinite loop, admins take on the roles of creating custom event content/stories for players to invest time into, custom factions to interact with, or be part of. The closest I've ever seen to a Mind's Eye Theatre TTRPG with a specific setting being put into a pixelated format with an ARPG element, along with integrated admin/server community involvement.
Having creation tools to create their own maps could potentially be a fantastic step towards players taking this game to infinity an beyond! :) -

Armored22Imagine if somehow groups could make the world together much like base building. Your clan logs onto a massive blank canvas and just like building a castle within the game itself you can create the landscape together. That would be so amazing and I know its way to out there to happen just thought I'd toss it out there as it crossed my mind.

CocoonBugNot sure how easy it is to create this kind of feature but I would definitely be interested!

MinervaVery much agreed. I, specifically, would love to create Superdungeons for my friends to play.

StyI am 100% all about this. If we are able to access the unity assets with some form of tool to create maps modders would be able to add/invent limitless content for the game.
As someone looking for a future official mod dev kit/steam workshop support this is a dream. -

AzraelIt'd be absolutely fantastic, but such a thing will I'm sure require a lot of work and may not likely see progress for some time. Gonna upvote it nonetheless. Got this idea of creating a King of the Hill map where one player who owns the 'hill' has the largest, more central and defensible territory on the map. It should come with a few bonuses to make you a target for other players.
